brrr.

it's december now. time flew. uni's been busy busy but still keeping my sanity via short weekend getaways and fancy meals outside now and then. these two semesters are hard - neurology especially... big big topics. neurology's kinda interesting once i get it. but neuroanatomy's killing me. moreover, i feel like i've lost everything i've learnt in the first year, so am now in panic mode. exams are in feb, essay deadline is in jan, and they're all creeping so close now. oh wells. i shouldn't sound so depressed because christmas is coming and yes, i can feel it in the air. :D so yup, ho ho ho.

this could have been more colourful if someone bought me colour pencils last christmas.

here and now

i actually find it quite surreal that it's now my 2nd year in london. first year just flew by. semester 3 at university started off pretty laxed until i realised that being in medical school is a bit different - you don't get to slack off. assessment is synoptic so whatever we've done in the first year, we need to retain. moreover, i have a 7000 word research project to be done by winter. eeps. taking one step at a time - baby steps. october was such an autumn rush. it was my sister's amazing wedding which was awesome, then 24 hours later, i was on the flight bound for heathrow. thank god for friends, i had a bed to sleep in on my first night (thanks cheryl, bernard and dan for setting up my ikea bed). loving my new room because everything still smells so new. having great housemates is a big plus :D

in the midst of my clinical attachment right now. doing geriatrics for one week and then paediatrics for another. the patient i was allocated to is this 102 year old lady with guillian-barre syndrome, R. spent my monday listening to her life story, speaking to her son and reading her files. i'm presenting R as a case-study to my consultant this friday. next week, i'll be posted to the neo-natal unit. very excited about that.

starting to get real cold down here. autumn's gone and winter's here.
